I just separated the body from the frame after 33 years ( It's a 67'). I was wondering what to use to paint the frame with. It has some pitting on the top of the frame, but nothing major. I have been brushing and sanding and buffing to get the surface rust off. I like what I have seen from POR-15. What have some of you guy's used to paint your frame?

My recommendation would be POR-15. I used it on my frame and it came out real well. ANother plus with POR-15 is that it will protect the frame longer than paint. One drawback is that if you don't topcoat it with the Chassis Black paint, it may discolor.

See if there's someone local who does powdercoating. I had my '67 frame sandblasted and powdercoated black for a few hundred bucks. Came out real nice, and is very durable.

Which would be better (i.e. more durable and long-lasting)? I am about ready to start my project car and I was leaning towards powdercoating. Thanks.

Yep, there's a good discussion of powdercoat vs. POR-15 in "body shop" section recently (2-20-2000)

por-15 i say with a niec top coat. heard through the grape vine that moisture makes it tougher. yet in florida youarent gonna get salt and dirt in the winter like in connecticut (that is if its a daily driver).
