I have a 72 SS chevelle. I found the build sheet on top of the gas tank. It has 30yrs of wear and dirt, so it is not very legible. How do you find out the interior and color? The paint # is 2424. Also, the vin# said LS3 402, the build sheet says LS3 400, which is right?

If you can read box 77 on your build sheet, this will give you the interior color. It will be 3 numbers beginning with 7, ex. 732. This number will also indicate bench or buckets. The number should also be on the trim tag located on the cowl area. As far as the engine, they are both right. The engine was actually 402 cu. in. but marketed as the 'Turbo-Jet 400'.
