I recently changed out the vent window seals in my 68 but I still get air whistling in while going over cruising speeds. Is there a secret to installing them? Are you supposed to use weatherstrip adhesive? my 70 Chevy P/U has the slide locks on the vents and that seems to seal the Chevelle when I push on the glass like the locks do.Any ideas?

The regulator is worn out on my driver's side vent window, so I have to help it along a bit to get the final seal.
Someday I'll get a new regulator. Meanwhile I'll just keep giving it that extra nudge.

my regulators are working fine.they both turn very easily and completely.does anyone know if the weatherstrip will maybe expand after a "break-in" and maybe become more pliable and seal better? any other tricks to suggest?

I replaced mine a while back.
I know it was tough to get the forward section into that "crack" in the frame. I still think I could push it in some more. You might think about pushing this part in some more to heop it align better if this is the area where it is leaking.
Also, you might have accidentally changed some of the alignment screws when re-installing it. This could cause the vent frame to not seal against the windshield post and cause a leak.
as far as adhesive, I didn't use any. I used an article in chevy high performance (I think) as a go-by when I installed mine, and they didn't use any.
Just a couple guesses...
