I did some searching and found thise link via "Uncle" http://www.andoauto.com/retractable_lap_shoulder_seat_belts.htm I ordered some up and below are the results. be sure to get the "extended" pivot arm piece. I had to drill one hole where the "spring retractor" unit goes. Easy to get to from below also. The lap belt mount uses the stock seat belt hole. The upper swing part uses the front hole of the stock setup on the roof.

It comes right across my sholder in just the right place. It could retract better, but I guess it being slower prevents it from slamming into the window when you let it go.

I hope that you have made some serious reinforcement at the attachment point for the retractor. This would be necessary to ensure that it does not pull through the floor at the moment when it really matters.

scwilliamson,

You should not wear the shoulder harness without the lap belt. You should be wearing both for maximum protection. If you have bench seats, you should have 5 female buckles and one male buckle laying across the front bench. The shoulder belt "plugs" into one of these buckles closest to you. Same with the passenger side. The lap belt is plugged into the "retractor" belt and the shoulder harness hooks into the closest buckle on that side of the seat. The two left over belts, one male, one female, are for the passenger in the center. If you have buckets, then the center belts are eliminated. I like this setup WAY better than the 3 point system. Been wearing these for 31 years now and find them alot easier to deal with than the newer stuff, much easier to adjust, especially for old farts! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
