My Metro weatherstrip has a red dot on one and a green dot on the other. What does this mean?

Dale,
If it's on the door weatherstrip, I believe it designates lefthand/righthand.

Thanks Bill. You are correct. I called Metro this AM and talked to a real nice guy. He said the Red & Green dots were used by the factory to make certain that one of each side gets into the package. I asked which is which. He stated that I needed to dry fit the pieces WITHOUT ADHESIVE and determine what piece goes on which side.

When installed into the door, the rubber should angle OUT or AWAY from the car.

I pressed him for a commitment to which is which, for example: Red is left & Green is right and to put that in the instructions. He said they make them in pairs and they don't mark them consistantly each production run. The purpose of the dots is to make certain we get one of each in the package, not to designate WHICH piece is left or right. That is up to us to test fit and determine.

Having said all of that, I like the Metro product better than the SofSeal. The Metro is very soft, but it has more body to it. Enjoy!
