Does anyone know wher one might get my power seat cables either repaired or replaced? The application is 1967 SS, 4 way bench seat. My seat (finally) quit working and upon inspection I found a couple of the ends had broken off where they attach to the adjuster. Thanks in advance, ecbert@yahoo.com

Are you sure you can't just solder new wiring back in their place? Would love to see some pic of the seat and its components...you have a very cool option there!

Not the electrical cables but rather the power transmission cables. These cables run from the gearbox to the fore - aft / up - down adjusters on the seat itself. Three of the four ends are broken off, I suppose it'll still work the way it is but the cables could fall out agian and it'd stop working.

Are they steel? Perhaps a little nub/ball or something like that could be welded or pressed onto the cables. Just brainstorming. What held them in place originally??
I just read an article in Super Chevy magazine (chevelle talk) about the power seat option. I've never seen this option in person. Let us know how you make out.

Hey Elky,
They are plastic with metal screw down clamps. Both the cable ends and the cable body are plastic with a metal cable (like a speedo cable). It's where the screw down clamp is attached that the plastic flange has cracked and broken off.

...having a hard time picturing this. Can you possibly post a picture? Maybe we can come up with some ideas for you if we know exactly what the situation looks like.
