If anyone has modded their console to accomodate a B&M megashifter please post some pics.

I need a 4 speed auto shifter but want to keep my console and I'm looking for ideas on what i want to do with it.

I was going to convert my stock shifter but the parts I've found so far cost $80 plus shipping so I'm debating if it might be more interesting to just get the ratchet shifter.

what year do you have?

On my 72 i installed the console over my Quicksilver by removing the gear indicator and removing some of hte brackets underneath and having the shifter come through where the indicator lense used to be, people think its a 4spd car, the only thing is that there is no gear indicator now, but i can manage, and it looks better than have that stupid console base lol.

Hey,
This is a perfect time to show off the setup, i did in my 68. Here it is:

I made a bracket to weld to the floor for the base of the megashifter as you can see in the 2nd pic. The shifter base is flat and very difficult to mount to the wavy floorboard. I mounted it in about the same spot as the original shifter. I did also have to cut some of the mounts out of the console, which did not bother me because my console was busted anyway. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks guys that looks great!

I had thought about doing it that way but didn't know if it was feasible. I was looking into making a new topplate.

I really like the way that works and I dont need a gear indicator...I never had one on my console anyway.

Thanks again!

I was really hoping not to have to take the seats and stuff out to get the carpet up but I guess it's gonna have to happen.

Looks like a possible thanksgiving or christmas break project.

That looks really good. I am in the process of putting the same setup in my 69, but I have a 4 speed console which will put the shifter forward a bit more.

The 4 speed and auto consoles are the same for 68-72, with the only exception being the top plate. Find yourself an automoatic top plate and you have an auto console.

I saw this Quicksilver shifter in a 69 Camaro at a local car show. Check out the custom console and how he intergrated the shifter into the console.

"How many of you still have your very 1st car? How many still talk about owning another one, just like it? Show of hands, please."

Those pic's of your intieror are great! If I didn't know better I'd say it was my car ,red paint, black bucket seat intieror with A/C, Mega shifter with console (although I still need to modify mine), even the floor mats are the same, and it is my FIRST car as well (18 years now). Oh yeah I have two others now :)
