On a Holley Double Pumper what is the difference between Standard and Annualar Boosters?
My engine is a 406, using Edelbrock rpm heads and intake. I have heard the annualars work better with dual plane intakes, is that true? And with a single plane is doesn't matter, is that true?
I was thinking about getting one of those built up Holley 4150s from Bill Mitchell

The only diffrence is the annular boosters have more holes around them and provide better atomization.

Mike, how much of an initial throttle response change would you see going to an annular discharge set-up? I was also thinking of swapping to them as well. Thanks!

If I remember correctly a reg. booster has 4 streams of gas for a total of 16 and the annular has 8 streams of gas per booster for a total of 32. This doesn't answer your question exactly but I hope it helps.

Wes, I really couldn't tell you. When I replaced my 1050 which didn't have them with the 1250 hp which does. I noticed a heck of a diffrence in throttle response, but it could be credited to just having a bigger and newer carb.
In a engine such as yours I think it would make a diffrence. Not only a diffrence in throttle response but in all out performance as well. But that is only my opinion. And for what its worth most of my racing friends have carburetors with them. Sorry it took so long to respond, good luck.
P.S. Going to the track tonight.
