I purchased all 4 side panels for my 67 Malibu and paid $130 for the set. I think this is pretty much the going rate for such an item in my area, but now I feel I got the short end of the deal and it's probably my own fault. I installed one last night and had real problems, all the holes where the trim clips go were not present so I had to make the ones that weren't then when I got that done and the panel was on I noticed that at the very top there is a gap on the line that tucks up under the chrome trim piece this didn't make me happy. Then came time to put the armrest on and if I used both the factory holes the arm rest look crooked on the door so I had to drill a different hole to make it look level, I checked the location of the factory holes and they were right on the money which now brings me to the conclusion that two things are wrong with the panel. The first being that the top of the panel was not cut square, and the second the vinyl was put on the cardboard backing crooked. I'm scared to even put the other panel on but now have no choice. I need to know if this is par for the course or did I get a bad set of what are supposed to be quality panels? Without having opened the package at the time of sale and inspecting the parts your not going to notice these imperfections and your really not going to see them until you have installed them. I'm now stuck with what I have bought. How can you keep this from happening in the future? Thanks Dave.
