I want to get a set of 3 point belts into my girlfriends 69 camaro.

When i put my 3 point's into my elky, i just used one of the 2 origonal sholder harness bolts and a washer to hold on the upper pivot point. Probably not the strongest way, I know... So i'm looking for a better way to do this on her car.

I know a bunch of you guys here have installed these 3point setups in chevelles- How did you bolt up that upper pivot point?

Thanks!

Ben,

Do a search on Seat belt,Shoulder or 3 point. Lot of good info on this subject. I have archived several of the posts for future referance.

I used the Anchor point for the shoulder belt.

Thanks Tim... I also plan to use the stock anchor point too... but I'm actually looking for specifics on what people have done as far as attaching there.

I want to know if people are using one of the 2 origonal dinky bolt holes & bolts along with a washer(like i did on my 69)to hold on the new pivot- Or if they drilled out the stock holes and mounted some kind of brace up there and used the correct biger bolt provided with the seat belt kits.

Thanks-
Ben

I installed Andover belts in my 69 Chevelle. Since I was replacing the headliner as well, I also installed the reinforcement plates that they sell for the shoulder mount. There was a hole in the roof reinforcement in about the right location, I match drilled the two holes for the retaining screws, and slipped the plate between the roof and reinforcement and bolted it in place. When I installed the new liner I put holes in the right locations and installed the shoulder belts. No extra holes, looks great, and has plenty of reinforcement in the unfortunate event that I actually need the shoulder belts.

I used the stock shoulder strap rainting bracket already built into the chevelle roof. I believe there was two bolt holes, and I used the front one.

Looked crappy at first, but two weeks later I had the entire headliner redone. I just instructed the guy not to cut out that area for "Stock equipment", but rather the belt that was already in there.

I think you can choose the length of that pivot arm before ordering. I got the longer one.

here it is before the new headliner...
