Any tips on cleaning mold from the interior or a 70 chevelle? Most is light but some on the steering wheel is heavy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's light mold, then here is what I have used on my 70 Chevelle when I first got it.

Bucket with 1 part bleach to 4 parts water. That's sounds to scientific,if I recall. I think it was more like, 1/2 bucket of HOT water, and a couple good splashes of bleach. I also removed and dissassembled the seat belts. I soaked the belts overnight in Castrol degreaser, and ran them thru the dish washer on the high heat setting on pot scrubber a couple times.

I then just wiped all the plastic and vinyl down.

But, the moldy smell did not completely go away, until I recovered the seats, had the headliner replaced, and replaced the carpet. I suspect when I swap out the door panels and the package tray this spring it will be like-new again.

Good luck

Yep, the bleach solution is the thing to use, but don't go crazy with the beach. It will discolor and eat the fabric if made too strong. A four to one ratio sounds good. You may have to do two applications, but well worth it. You may want to put some of it in a spray bottle and mist the areas.

Any car past 1972 is just simply transportation, really!

Thanks guys. Sounds like the way to go. I was worried about using bleach but now I know the ratio to use.

Thanks again for your input.

No tips on cleaning, but a comment on the possible cause. I heard that using armorall and then storing the car (closed up in the dark) often leads to a mold attack on interiors. Someting to do with the makeup of the product and the introduction of moisture to eveything. I know of several people this has happened to. Is ther any better suited products out there for interiors?
