Does anyone out there have a '67 4-speed car with a bench seat? I am trying to figure what the correct rubber boot looks like on the shifter. I have a oval re-pop one but someone told me it should be round. Any help?

That is what I purchased but it says thru '66 and service replacement for '67. Someone had told me that '67 had a different one from all other years.(round?)

I was on the phone with OPG regarding this very subject when I read your post http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif

I ordered a Carpet and 4-speed (no console) "Hump", from Ground Up, for a "Bench Seat / 4 Speed" application.

The shifter hump has the oval hole and looks more like a patch panel than a hump. It has the same conture as the tranny tunnel, NO HUMP! However, the carpet has a "Bulge" in it for a raised shifter hump http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif Ground Up told me they were a match set. Ausley's also told me these two part numbers are to be used together. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif

I need a shifter hump to accomodate the carpet http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif I'm using this in a special application, so please Email me if you have any info on the shifter hump. Thanks

My car is an original 4-speed but someone had chopped up the original hump for a Verti-Gate shifter. I bought a YearOne hump and it is not exactly correct but will work fine. I would recommend getting one to fix your crapet dilema. good luck.

Cardiac are you sure that you have the correct carpet? The one for a console should have a hump.

Dad's 67 SS is an original bench seat 4-speed and it has a chrome bezel that screws into the floor board and the boot is oval shaped. That chrome bezel is a 67 only item and is really hard to find one. It also has a clock mounted on the floor next to the shifter.

There seems to be a lot of confusion as to which console hump is for a console or no console car. The hump for a console car looks more like a patch panel, it does not rise very far off of the floor. The hump for a no console car has a definate hump to it. Almost looks like you could sit on it. Check out page 351 of the Year One catalog (Fall 98). Also check out the Paddock catalog on page 84. It shows the same thing. I don't see any way that a console would fit over the tall hump panel.
Cardiac, I think Ground Up sent you the correct carpet and the wrong hump.
