i have a 1965 chevelle that originally came with a bench seat. i have a complete set of 1965 buckets and need to know how to install them. is there a company that makes a bracket that will work for this conversion?

The brackets are available from most any Chevelle parts vendor. They must be securely welded to the floor.

If you have access to a parts car or a car in the junkyard that has/had bucket seats you can also obtain the seat mounting brackets there. All GM 64-67 A-bodies would be likely donors.

As far as installing them, it's easy. Using the buckets seats you plan to install, bolt the brackets to the seat supports (to the inside track, the one nearest the trans hump). Then make sure the two seat supports are set at the same fore and aft position (they do not travel together when the seat is out of the car) and then bolt the seat into the car using the existing hole and bracket used by the bench seat. Mark the floor boards where the new bracket is lying, remove everything and weld in the bracket per the marks you made on the floor boards. Done!

watch out if you get sliders. I 2 seats out of a 65 skylark and now my seat sits at different angles becuase when slider is shorter than the other. Just be careful, this could be an isolated incident, but you might as well check.
