: B&M MegaShifter, Floor is uneven...how to mount?
Cable Dec 3rd, 02, 2:44 AM Hey guys, I have an old megashifter that I was playing with to see how a new one would mount in my '70 El Camino. Right now the interior is stripped out, including the carpet.
I can't see how you guys mount these things without using some type of spacers or cutting and welding a new panel in.
Please let me in on this secret, the Elco floor should be the same as any '68-'72 Chevelle. Pics would be great too.

In my chevelle, I bent and welded a piece of sheetmetal to the tunnel. Before welding it to the floor I tacked a couple bolts coming up through it from the underside to make it easier to take the shifter on and off.
On my Elky, I used washers and bolts to mount it.

Completely removable later- and the mega shifter can easily be removed/reinstalled separatly too.
BB_Mike Dec 3rd, 02, 1:28 PM B&M sells a light-truck version. It has an adapter bracket that give you many degrees of freedon. I"ll try and send you a picture later.
When I had the bench and no consol. I used one, and had it sitting off to the left side of the hump.
