Looks interesting. I wonder if they realize the wiper switch hole is different for 68.

Got the email too! I contacted Covan back in Aug, 2003 & inquired as to whether or not they had any plans to do a 68 dash panel, & they said no. Looks like enough people have expressed interest to warrant a change of heart on their part!! A little pricey, but looks like a quality piece.

It's nice if you are looking at changing the entire look of your dash to more modern look.

And I received an e-mail from owner John Covan, with several pix of the 70-72 Chevelle, El Camino dash, now available with or without Autometer gauges. Here's the brushed aluminum version, with Autometer Carbon Fiber series gauges:

OK....there needs to be a drooling icon just for this post! That is a BEAUTIFUL dash. Do you guys know how much that would be, with/without the gauges? I was picturing something like that for my car when it's done. Glad to see they're out there. graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The cost of the complete panel in carbon fiber, brushed aluminum, or black is $799.95 with either Auto-Meter Ultra Lite gauges or Phantom gauges. This is great news. graemlins/hurray.gif I was thinking about calling Covan Classics and see if they ever planned to build a dash panel for 68-69's. Glad to see they have already done so. I'll definitely be buying one for my 69 El Camino.

Actually, we are very surprised to see our prototype '70-'72 Chevelle/El Camino/Monte Carlo/GM "A" Body insert on the site at this time.

The prototype has been installed on a Chevelle in the state of Washington for several months to see how the trim option(s) react to any and all conditions.

The insert offers a very pleasing effect, and will be a great addition to any Chevelle/El Camino/Monte Carlo/GM "A' Body (It will/may be available to all GM applications).

Having said that, Covan and Haneline offer "Great Products", have an "Unlimited" development/startup budget, therefore, we can't compete with their products.

What we offer are "Custom" applications, RE: your gauge/switch/option application and setup, not a this is what you get product.

Catch you later, and thanks again for posting our "Prototype" on the TC Site. We are "Truly Honored".

If anyone is getting the 70-72 dash, please post some pictures when you get it installed. I'd like to see some in car photos before plunking down that much green. graemlins/waving.gif

Jim, I emailed them about that very same detail about the cutouts for the vents above heater control and the astrovent in the lower left and they said that all cutouts will be possible.
