I repainted my dash frame out of my ss and repainted around all the gauges and everything else that was supposed to be silver. It took me forever but turned out really nice. The problem is the paint would scratch off pretty easy so I clearcoated the whole thing now it is too shiny. Is there anything I can do to dull the clearcoat or could I put another coat of a less glossy clearcoat on.

You could try polishing/rubbing it with tooth paste. I once read this might be used to polish a speedo lens, but when I tried that the lens turned dull.
