Some Bucket seat questions, that are getting the best of me. Are 68 bucket back and sides made of steel like 66 and 67? With fabric NOT in the picture, is it possible to add the repro seat back locks to a 66 seat and have them function and look like 67 or 68's. And lastly,I notice in the repro catalogs the reproduction plastic seat back and sides they sell fit 66-72.Does that mean I could use 67 seat skins, and the avialable 67 head rest kits w/lock, and 67 seat back lock kit,complete with the available plastic seat back and sides on a set of 70 chevelle buckets I've had for years and end my search for 67 buckets.

I had a similar question once about if the seat backs on a 68 would fit on a 67 seat and was told that the areas where the seat backs were mounted to the seat were different between 67 and 68. Where do you live? there might be someone on this site nearby you who has a set of 67 buckets they would be willing to sell.

67 and 68 seats are the same with the release button on the side. 68 seat backs and trim are plastic, 67 are steel. Reproductions are plastic.
