Working on my 69 - column shift auto - changing it to floor shift - read through all the great posts here. How did you guys get your parts together? who did you use? I was ordering from ground up but they have been back ordered for over a month, and I got nervous and cancelled the order today - wasn't 100% sure about the shifter deal - which one and what parts - so that is why I am asking you guys what and where you bought your conversion shifers?

If you are going for the stock look and you want all new parts then just call around until you find a company that has it in stock. If you want used then check the classified section here or you might try True Connections in CA. I believe they sell new and used stuff. I have used them a couple of times and was quite happy with them.

I've gotten most of my stuff from True COnnections, since they are close to me. Had good luck so far.

Hey Mr.ed, I did the same on my 69 chevelle, switching from column to floor. If you want to go to the factory look, then I suggest going to swap meets and asking friends that have the same years 68-72 a bodies. My problems were finding the right column (tilt and floor shift column)and console brackets (back). Your car looks about like mine did, Ok here's a very good source for chevelle parts. If he don't have it, he can get it, Jim's Chevelle Parts & Cars 740-893-4596 out of Croton Ohio, it is a chevelle junk yard specializing in 68-72 A bodies and 70-72 Monte Carlo's. remember camaro's shifter are different so don't use one..email me if you want cliffss427@aol.com

If you're not looking for that stock look, then think about installing an '82 Camaro Tilt Column (Or other GMs) in your Chevelle. Looks great, has the cruise, WSW, and you can get the wiring hookup(s) from most aftermarket suppliers (We used Ron Francis Wireworks).
