I have a set of the window weatherstripping (6 pieces, 3 on each side of the car) that bolts to the top frame. These have the studs built into the weatherstrip. I don't like them...they don't line up to the original holes, plus I'd have to drill out the original holes to a bigger size. I'd like to get the type that has through holes so I can use sheet metal screws and assemble it that way. I think that will work much better. Function over looks, especially minor 'looks' details. Who manufactures this? and what is the manufactures p/n? I already have the header seal.
Metro or Soft or anyone else?
Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of any side weatherstrips with through holes. Are you sure somebody makes this?

My stock side weatherstrip has the studs. I ended up drilling them out and putting regular screws in them (like you mentioned) so I could get more adjustment out of them and get them to seal better. The only problem with this is that they are a little harder to install (since you have to keep the screws from turning when tightening the bolts) and it will allow water to get into the metal plate inside and cause it to rust.

Still, if you have to have this to get it to work and can't find any already done, it is not too difficult to do. I just put a socket under the stud area and hammered out the stud. This leaves a mark on the back, so a hole can be drilled to remove the stud. You just have to be careful not to bend the internal plate.

What kind did you buy? It sounds like you just got a low quality brand that has Q.C. issues. If you get a good set, they should fit OK without having to modify them. I have heard that METRO is the best, with SOFTSEAL second.

On my '69 I got mine from NPD (p/n C-14060-102A) and it had clearance holes and attached with sm screws (like to originals). I don't remember the brand but they should know from the p/n.
