when replacing the rubber strip/seal on the back window on my 70 chevelle ss(the part that meets the front window when both windows are up), do I need to buy the window to get the rubber strip?

Originaly the Chevelle rubber came with the steel core. I have no experience with the reproduction product but would think that the steel core has less of a chance of leaks and wind noise.
If I remember correctly Year One also sells the chrome in reproduction

I have used the ones without the steel inside and they are a bit reluctant to stay in the groove. Weatherstrip adhesive seems to be required. I suspect that the steel-inside types would just slip in and work without the glue.
