Well, If it's like the one on my '66 then I believe you need a semi-gloss black.

Didn't '67's have woodgrain??? The 66 was black for sure though.

Malibu's have woodgrain, SS and 300 are painted and require different nuts to mount the light and wiper switch. Malibu's have studs on the back while the others accept screws into the plastic. Semi-gloss black would be want you want.

Be careful! I screwed mine up when I painted the semi gloss black. I taped off the outside chrome border, sprayed the black and when I pulled the tape I pulled some of the new chrome with it. I should have "scuffed" the tape before I put it on to take some of the stickyness out of it.
To mask off the wiper, lights, and other round bezels use the red little caps from WD-40 cans. They fit over them perfectly! No tape required.

I thought I read somewhere that ss dash strips were painted with black wrinkle paint?

If we are speaking of the panel that goes on the face of the dash, mine is original ( and shows) and it is most defintely a krinkle type finish.

Big Ed, welcome Sir!

Yes they have a "crinkled" finish but it's molded into the plastic, at least on mine it is http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
