Ok, I know that this has been asked before, but I never found a posting that answered all of my questions. With a 1972 LeMans, no A/C, I am looking to remove the dash pad. I understand that there are six screws that need to be removed. Where are their approximate locations? Also, When the pad comes out, does the instrument cluster come out, too? Any general advice/procedures?
All advice is appreciated.
Merry xmas or whatever winter solstice holiday you celebrate :D .

I took the pad out of my '69 while I had the dash out. There are a lot of nuts that need to be loosened, and removed from the underside of the dash...6 Sounds about right, but I don't remember exactly how many there are. Look for 2-3 above the glove box, 2 in the middle, and 2 on the driver's side. Watch out, because they are extremly sharp too.

I believe the dash pads from the 72 A-bodies are all the same. If I remember correctly when I took mine off, there were 4 screws right above the instument cluster and 2 screws that I had to open the glove box door to get to.
After that you just lift up, and pull back to slide it out. The dash pad will come off by itself, with nothing else attached.
