I ran across a set of buckets out of a 65 elcamino.

they have the side release buttons.

Are these common? Are they the same up to 98??

I didn't really need them, but I will buy them just to save them from the yard.
Thanks
Tim

Up to 98.. :] dont think so. Buckets for 68-72 were all the same but with diffrent covers. Dont know about 65 sorry.
But they are probably worth a couple of bucks if they are rebuildable.

There has been a great deal of discussion here on this topic. In a nutshell, 69 to 72 are interchangeable except for the covers. 67 and 68 are interchangeable except, I believe, for the bottom and back trim, and the covers. Neither 65 nor 66 had seat release mechanisms, so with the right covers, they may too, be interchangeable. I may well be wrong here, so don't quote me... I recommend doing a search on this forum for more complete info.

These are 67 or 68 A-body B/O/P seats.
Only difference from Chevelle is the cover.
If the back and side covers are metal, they are 67, if they are plastic, they are 68.

They are plastic. so they are 68s.
Can they be both elcamino seats and chevelle seats?

What are B/O/P seats??

Thanks
Tim

Plastic backs, plastic bottoms, side release buttons... definately 1968. Would be correct for Chevelle, El Camino, GTO, 442, GS, and others (with the right covers of course). The picture appears to me to be Oldsmobile covers, but I won't swear to that. Are they worth saving from the salvage yard? Yes!
