My 67 chevelle SS has a wood grain strip across across the front of the dash. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks for any info.

JIMK Feb 19th, 02, 4:43 PM it should be,my 67 non-ss had it and was pretty shotty so i removed the metal strip inlay,stripped it and went to home depot and found some wood grain contact paper then epoxied it back in the chrome strip. it is much lighter than the original but it still looks good,instead of buying new speedo bezel and glove box bezel i just painted them yellow and bought a new chrome radio bezel.looks pretty sharp,i am going to take pics tomorrow and post so people can see what i have done and how far i have to go http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif oh yeah the yellow is because the outside will be yellow.JIMK Dot Feb 19th, 02, 5:39 PM If it is an SS car it should have the black pebbled strip. Only the Malibus came with the wood grain. You never know, it may have been changed for some reason at one time.
