How on earth does this thing come out? I can see little expanded tabs on the back side, but if i press them in, how would you get them spread again?

The tabs aren't related to retention of the socket assy. In the ideal world, stick your finger in the socket and hold it while unscrewing the large sleeve from the rear. If the lighter hasn't been removed in a gazillion years, stick a screwdriver at an angle into the socket tab slot and hold while twisting the sleeve. Make sure you've unplugged the power wire before sticking the screwdriver in there. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks, I plan on getting a new one and don't care about destroying the original. Just did not want to destroy the dash while getting it out.
