I plan on changing my deteriorated body mounts soon. Any suggestions? Has anyone used poly mounts or just rubber? I have looked in the archives, but I know there is more to it then that. The explaination is to simple. I'm really interested it the poly Vs. rubber debate......Thanks

I changed mine two years ago. I encountered several problems including:
- I purchased from GM where possible but had to buy restoration mounts for one location.
- Had one cage nut that was broken loose. Was able to get bolt out and in without cutting hole in floor to hold nut.
- When I jacked up the right side, I forgot about ground strap at #2 mount. Ripped it in two.
- As long as I had the mounts loose, I pushed and pulled on the rear end until the body was exactly center on the rear axle to maximize tire clearance.
- I think that I unbolter the fenders at the firewall so they would not be distorted when jacking up the body. I had previously replaced the radiator support mounts.

If your uncertain about what mount goes where, look in your Factory Assembly Manual.
