I'm trying to remove the ignition switch from the dash. I've loosened the chrome round threaded nut on the front which will not come off. Theres a small pin-hole next to the key-hole. Is that something I need to tinker with to get the ignition housing out from the rear..or am I missing something else? Please help

Turn the key to the acc position and push that pin hole you mentioned with the end of a paper clip. Then while pushing on the paper clip the key and lock should come out. Then the rest of the ing. will come out...
