Well I have a 69 Malibu. I bought it with the original steering wheel still on and of course it was all cracked and beat up. So today I went out and bought a wheel by Grant. I got the Challenger series. Well I looked on the chart and I thought in the store I saw the installation kit 3162 was for 67-69 Chevelle. So I got it and went home, pulled off the old wheel and started with the new one. Well it turns out that the kit is for 67-68 Chevelle and 67-69 Corvair which I misread. Does anyone know why it works for 68's and not 69's? Also has anyone had experience with installing a Grant steering wheel in a 69 Chevelle? sorry for this being so long.
Thanks,
Eric

I bought the Grant GM 3 spoke walnut wheel, so i think the mounting kit may have been different that yours, but I had no problems installing it on my '69 Elcamino.
I'll look through some of my old recepts and see if i can see what installation kit it had with it.

Eric, In 69 they started using the locking column. Philip

Well today I got the wheel on but the installation kit I got was ghetto for my column and made the steering wheel sidewards instead of flat across. I looked on the chart and noticed they have another kit for all models 69-94. So after the flyers game I'm gonna go back over and pick up the other kit and hopefully that will work. Thanks
64elcamino thanks for that info, I realized it was a locking column after you said that, thats probably why the kit only went to 68. Well I went back and got the other kit and the will fit just fine.
