I've recently acquired these seats for my wife's Chevelle and was hoping someone could confirm (or deny) that these are "proper" for a 1970 Chevelle... I'm interested in the seat itself -- and then, if it is correct, if the pattern is correct also (the last pic has a close-up of the pattern)...

Anyone know? Thanks!

I would say they match the original pattern. This pic is from OPGs website of the seats. Disregard that they don't have the standard headrests:

Second pic for backup is from year One:

Ok -- very good news! Thanks.

One last thing then... Is there a way to tell if the current covers are original or reproduction covers? I like them either way -- I'm simply curious is all now.

I would say that they are reproduction covers. There is no difference but there is a chrome emblem that is normaly found in the center of the back that is installed through the vinyl and held in place by a plate on the backside. Unless you have two holes down the centerline, I would say that they have been replaced.
It also looks like they may have been pearl (white) by the looks of the plastic backs.
You will want to either replace those plastic backs or strip them down with oven cleaner and a power washer before you repaint.

Indeed -- I was aware that the backs and side plastics were originally pearl. I am hoping to buy replacements soon. Ground Up has the full set on sale for $135... Might do that...

As for the covers -- I was also thinking that they must be recovered because of the missing diamonds. I wasn't sure if ALL Chevelles had the diamonds. If they did, then, obviously, these must be recovered.

Thanks!
