So where would I find this hidden build sheet in my 71 4-door with bench seats? Don't want to destroy my to never find something that might be an urban legend?

I found mine behind the rear seatback. do a search for buildsheets and see where others have found them. If in fact you do locate it, handle with extreme care. most are pretty brittle by now. mine started coming apart in my hand, but I was able to save it.

The previous owner of my 72 found two build sheets inside the car in the back seat.

I just dropped the gas tank and found another one! In great condition to.

I have heard that GM in Canada keeps records on all the cars that were produced, you just need your VIN #. I believe the US only kept them for 10 years. Maybe another Chevelle owner in Canada can help you out.
