Does anyone know where I can order seat upholstery for my chevelle bucket seats and rear bench for myself to install. But in a tweed or full cloth ,grey or blue in color.

I'm looking for a cloth interior too, and I have found it at most of the major aftermarket companies... but be prepared to pay! If you don't necessarily need an original interior, go to http://www.chevelles.com/forum/Forum21/HTML/002395.html and look at pictures of the Autocraft interior in AHSOM70's '68 Olds. I'm seriously tempted to buy from Autocraft, as the price is ridiculously low compared to other companies (or, maybe more correct: the other companies prices are ridicilously high). I don't know much about the quality, but it seems like he was very happy with it. And at the price he mentioned ($230), who cares as you can recover your seats 2-3 times for the same price as one from the other guys http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I've been looking at the seats in a 69 camaro. They have a cloth insert. I just need to do some research and see the differences in the camaro bucket and the chevelle. They have a couple of styles and the prices aren't completely out of site. heres the link www.rickscamaros.com (http://www.rickscamaros.com)

The quality on the AutoCraft covers is at least as good as repop vinyl covers from PUI or distinctive. Definitely worth the drive to a local upholstery shop to look at their catalog & fabric samples.

I got the full seat cover kit from PUI and the fit was great and they look excellent. Ground Up sells them.

I was not knocking PUI or Distinctive- They make great stuff- but it is fairly expensive, and they ONLY make reproductions of the factory covers.

AutoCraft makes custom cloth/vinyl/& cloth-vinyl combo covers- they are a lot cheaper than the repop stuff, but are just as good quality-wise. That was all I was saying. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

We've actually wondered if we could purchase a simular or same material as the PUI Gold Edition Door Panels for our dash pad (If that is what the dash pad requires), kick pads, pillar posts, rear area, etc.

Anyone know of someone? Or would we better off having our existing door panels and the above items all redone?

I have been to the AutoCraft website and the application page seems to be under constuction. Do you have to email them for specifics like materials and colors and pricing.

I e-mailed Autocraft, and had the info a couple of days later. It didn't really say much though, just a few xerox copies with prices. They also said that they don't make repro interiors with original vinyl, cloth and so on, they only use their own materials and designs. As AHSOM70 said, it's a good idea to go to your local upholstery shop, they should have a better catalog and samples. If I could only get off from work at a descent time, I would have done it already, but hopefully I'll have the whole Christmas week off. Maybe I'll surprise myself with a new interior for Christmas http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I also e-mailed Rick's Camaros, but they said that they only deal in Camaro parts, period. Would love it if I could find a Chevelle repro interior for the $299 you pay for a full set Camaro interior at Rick's.

AHSOM70;

Pics are great! Are the door panels a kit or ? They appear to match the seats.

Maybe we are on the right track. We need a highly grained vinyl for our Door Panels, Kick Panels, Dash Bezel, Dash Pad, etc., and want it all to match.

We can do most of the work ourselves, however, we would like the door panels to have a similar look as the PUI Gold Edition panels.

We don't need seat covers, as we went with new race type seats (They won't match anything unless we cover them).

Are we able to achieve this, or are we making it complicated?

I'm sure you can get any kind of vinyl you want- but you will need to find a good upholstery shop to show you their selection and sell it to you. The shop I go to has rolls and rolls of different materials for different jobs. The owner sells it all by the foot- I'm sure there must be some shops near where you are that work the same way...

BTW- the door panels in my olds were the origonal ones, i only replaced the seat covers. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
