I thought I read somewhere that if a lifter bore is even a little out of alighnment it can screw up the works. It,s kinda a hit or miss thing. what problem are you having?
Crower cams has a roller lifter that is supposed to take care of problem, you might want to check out their web page.

I haven't seen your original post either, but as far as a solid roller in a big block goes the lifters and cam go south at less than 6000 miles. You have to really keep your eye on the valve lash and be ready to accept that you should pull the intake and check the lifters and cam for wear as soon as you notice anything out of the norm in the lash. I am giving this advise out of the experience I have had with working for John Lingenfelter and building numerous roller cammed street big blocks. The hydraulic roller cams seem to be more reliable but with a big sacrifice in power.
