Anybody useing the 1406 carb. How well does the electric choke work? Does it set and come off properly in cold weather? Does it idle well? would the manul choke be better?
I'd be putting in on a 283 w/auto daily drvr.

Hi flywheel:

I'm using one with the electric choke, and have had no problems with it yet. I have been driving my car every day to work from DC to MD and haven't had any problems with the carb. I haven't had any problems starting the car either - it starts as well at 20 degrees as at 60 degrees. I think the electric choke is the way to go, my engine used to be a 283 but is now a ZZ4, and I think it would be more trouble than it is worth to get the manual choke hooked up. With electric you just need a ground wire and switched positive and you're there. It's easy to adjust also.

Hope this helps,
Dave D.
