I am rebuilding a 350 and I have come across 2 threaded bolt hole that I can't identify one is on the side of the block directly above the oil filter and the other is 6 inches away towards the front of the engine. they both are 1/2 coarse threads if this helps. can anyone tell me what these are for? Thanks for the help

The hole above the filter I believe is used to mount your clutch linkage. The other hole I'm not sure about. Both of those holes are unused on my car. I have a 350 with a TH350 automatic.

If you had a manual transmission, you would know in a heartbeat. That's where the ball stud goes for the clutch cross shaft (commonly called the "Z-bar"). Which hole depends on application. I assume you have one of those lazy boy trannys (automatic) so you won't need either hole.

comming from you that hurt! Just kidding.
yeh I got the lazy boy box but I'm not coordinated enough to eat a burger, smoke a cigarette and kiss the girl while shifting. Shifting had to go http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Those holes on my engine are not wet holes. they are not plugged.
