I just got a mirror off of EBAY that was for "64-74 Chevelle/GM". Great mirror, great condition. Unforunately, it is a windshield mount, while my car is an overhead mount.
Was an original '69 Chevelle windshield mount or overhead (hanging) mount?
If I go to windshield mount, does anyone know if the mounting pieces that would be glued to windshield are still available?
Thanks

you should have an overhead mount. If you want to use the windshield mount just head to the local bone yard and get the metal mounting tab you need. I get them off by sitting in the front seat with both my feet on the windshield on either side of the mirror..then just grab the sucker and pull it off the windshield. Then remove the metal tab from the mirror. I am sure they are available new but I have more fun my way http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Overhead mount. No original mirror is really interchangable from 1964-74 either, the 64-67's were different than the 68-71's, and the 1972 and later ones had black plastic backs instead of stainless.
