I have a '70 elke with the buttons for power door locks, but nothing is attached to them from the inside (I was rebuilding my power window mechanisms today). Are there aftermarket power window mechanicals I can hook-up? non of the resto catalogs carry such parts. Has anyone coverted to power door locks?

What you need to do is scout the street rod magazines. There are tons of vendors in those magazines with power window, lock, trunk(not that you have this) conversions because anyone with a street rod wants this kind of stuff...right?

Just go down to your local car audio store and you can purchase the actuators for like 10 bucks each, have them wire up a pair of relays for you and you're set. Or just buy that kid from ebay listed above.

Around here the rice tuners are using Honda gas door soleniods, found cheap at wrecking yards as the acuators. Don't forget that other GM models will probably work for the innards. Caddy & Buick would probably be good guess since they are higher end cars that came standard with power stuff. GM also out sourced to American Motors and Jeep so some of those parts will work on Chevelles too (check Chevy interchange manuals).
