Okay, I got my springs together and started the upholstery. I have a few questions though.

1) My bottom foam doesn't have any place to attach it to the frame. Should I glue the foam to the burlap and tie the burlap to the frame? Or, is it fine as-is, with just the vinyl hog ringed?

2) The vinyl for the bottom has a piece of cloth stitched to it to run the rod though.
Should I tie the hog ring through the cloth only (around the rod)? (I am thinking this may cause the material to tear, untying the hog ring). Or, should I tie through the vinyl so that the seam is inside of the rings (I am thinking this may cause a stress on the seam causing the thread to break)

3) My plastic rod used in my old upholstery is broken. I saw someplace that a coathanger can be used. Would that be okay? Or, is there something else I should use? I am thinking it may be hard to bet a coathanger around the corners.

saw you are having a problem with your seat cover
1st. is it a bench or buckets?
2nd.is this a aftermarket foam replacement?
3rd. the cloth"listings" hold the wire
that hog rings to the frame.
when you use the hogring pliers,
grab the wire with the hogring and hook it to the frame .
it should not tear the cloth a lot,but you will get a
"gobolygook"or something from gripping the cloth
then pulling it to the frame.
4. coat hangers are the best.they countor well
the factory used a heavier guage wire.and very
hard to work with sometimes.
just use a pair of pliers and make a small loop
at the end of metal wire .
this make the wire "slip" thru the cloth listing
with ease.
5 as to the foam....
if its original, it should "center" itself,
after market foam is a b***c to work with.
they use a mould that is almost universal.

just try to center the foam, and use the burlap
to wrap around the "edge"spring and hogring.
then install the cover.
any other questions?i can help.e-mail me.
