Is there any reason to switch any numbers except for fraudulent (read:illegal) reasons?

Well, here's a reason... although I myself don't agree with doing it.

You COULD have a new trim tag made with a different paint color if the original color is one you just HATE.

Would that be illegal?? Don't think so. But me, I wouldn't be quite that picky. If I want to paint it some other color I will, so what if the paint code does not match.

Now if you're talkin VIN numbers... whoa, don't even ask if this is legal or not. Everyone knows you can't legally fool around with these numbers.

Thanks. Len

Hey Len,

Again, why would someone swap in a trim tag except to FRAUDULENTLY represent the car as the original color? It won't make the car faster or look better - it is purely for deception.

If you want to change the car's color go ahead - but don't try to pass it off as original by swapping in a tag.
