Here we go again... http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
I picked up a set of 68 impala Bucket seats (I like having the seat release on the outside)

I'm going to have them restored to put in my 70 elky... I don't like the stock 1970 pattern- I DO like the pattern on these seats1968 impala seats (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/AHSOM70/68_impala6-seats.jpg)

I'm thinking about having a local shop make me the same pattern, but with cloth centers & vinyl bolsters, instead of all vinyl like stock.

Do you think I should just get a set of the vinyl covers(pui reproduces them) or do the custom ones?

Anyone else have factory bucket seats with custom cloth covers? I'd love to see some pics to get ideas!

Thanks!
Ben

I had the buckets in my 69 Chevelle recovered with black Velour. They look great. They do not burn your legs in the summer, and they are not cold in the winter.

The upholstery guy was into old cars, and he put a "classic car" pattern into the material. I do not have any pictures yet, but I can get some done.

Tweed is always a good choice. I put Grand Am buckets in my 67 and had them recovered by a local shop that does a lot of hot rod and custom work. Especially nice if you don't like the factory or available covers.
