I have finally worked my way back to the trunk on my restore. Does anybody have pictures of what an original 69 trunk should look like? I would really like to have a picture to refrence. Thanks!

Your'e not trying to fabricate a trunk floor out of sheetmetal are you?
If you are, you'll save a lot of headaches if you buy the trunk sections that are available from most of the parts suppliers.
I went through this 10 years ago when I did my car the first time, I patched it with sheetmetal. I wish I did it right the first time. Now Im in the middle of a frame off resto on the car, this time I bought the complete trunk sections with all the body braces. it looks much better just like factory. Oh well live & learn
If you get a chance to look at other trunk floors, all 68-72 Chevelles and 70-72 MonteCarlo's use the same trunk floor.

Good luck!
Jeff

No i plan on buying the trunk pan, but my real question is I seem to have some sort of bracket on the right middle part of the trunk. I am trying to find out if that is to hold the spare or if it for the jack, or just a piece of junk in there. Thanks!

Slim,

The part I think you are talking about is for the spare tire hold down hook. A J type screw hook is used to hold the spare tire down. The base of your jack lays between the spare tire and the wing nut to hold the tire down. You should also have an L shaped piece a little infront of this piece to hold the jack in place. The jack also lays under the spare tire.

I have a picture I took of my trunk when I repainted it. I'll scan it in tonight and mail it to you.

Do you have any Parts Catalogs???

If so, look up Floor Pans.

OPG pg 124 you can see the bracket.

Year One Pg 84 has the bracket, Pg 348 show floor pan.

Paddock pg 59

Sorry but I don't have my Ground Up Catalog with me.

Hey Slim
The bracket doesn't come with the replacement floor pans, I don't know why.
I ended up reusing my old one. Hoever it does come with the bracket for the tire hold down hook.
