Did anyone here paint their seat frames?
I was going to paint mine. But, they cleaned up pretty good with naval jelly. And, i am thinking if they lasted 30 years with minimal surface rust, they'll likely outlast me.

Hi 72 Elky:
I have a 70 Chevelle SS and I just had my seat frames blasted with ground up walnut shells and I painted them with black rust paint (Tremclad) and that will keep them from rusting. They looked really good but now that the seat covers are on nobody can see them anyway. I think if you have cleaned them well you should paint them because I think they will rust more quickly than when they were new.
Take care

Well, I stripped off the rust with naval jelly and cleaned that off with 8:1 diluted Castrol Superclean. Hopefully, that should leave a clean surface with no residue that will damage the metal or cause paint not to stick.
I am now going to spray them with gray Rustoleum.
