I originally posted this is Brakes & Suspension with no luck.
I have the original non-posi, non-stabilizer, control arms to use with my new 3.42 posi w/stabilizer. Do I need to box the lower control arms, or is that piece (p/n pp21020-stabilizer shaft bracket in OPG) box the control arm? Is this all I need, or do the stock arms require more reinforcement? These brackets do look somewhat similar to the rusted remains of what appears to be this bracket from the original posi control arms which were cut off the previous car.
Help, I want everything ready before I start the swap since I'm using a friends garage with a time limit.

Hi Jack. Since I have a 73 and 74 with the stabilizers in the back, I should be able to help you out. The OPG part I believe is for the older cars, but I do not have the newest catalog so I could be wrong about that.

The "boxing"piece slips into the lower control arms and the stablizer bar bolts on to the "boxed" or center of this part. Two holes would need to drilled in the side of the control arms to mount the mounting plates.

BTW I have an extra pair of these with the bar still attached originally from my 77 monte.

Most cars I have seen without the rear end had the control arms cut off with a torch, what a waste!!
