I'm swaping out a sweep dash for a SS. I bought a dash kit from ground up. What else do I need? What is a gauge carrier? I know very little about this, so anything you can think of would be great. Thanks

You need a wiring harness and the gauge cluster assembly for starters. The glove box door and dash pad from the sweep will work with the ss.

I would look on ebay for a used gauge cluster with a wiring harness. You can get all new stuff to do it but you will end up spending well over a grand to do it.

Can't I buy a set of aftermarket gauges for much cheaper then a grand?

I have an original idiot light cluster with wiring harness. I bought a cluster for a '78 camaro for $12 which includes the small gauges. I only paid for $100 for the cluster with wiring, so I'd say you can easily do it for under $1000.
