Has anyone ever used dye on seats before.
I'm using dye on my trim, green to black before I have my head liner installed on friday. Just though about what it would look like on the back seat. Nobody wil be seating there, the roll bars in the way.

I've used White Dye on the seats of my 65 Vette and also redyed the seats in my 70SS with Light Saddle.
Looks great, and has held up very well.
I was having trouble getting the seats in my Vette to look and stay clean. Since I dyed them ( well over 5 years ago ) they are easier to clean and still look like new.
The trick to getting the dye to stick is in your prep of the seats. Get the vinyl prep clearer that they make. I user it to clean a lot of things and love it.

Use the vinyl prep, but also mist the vinyl with SEM's "SAND FREE" primer just prior to dying! This will promote adhesion and you won't have to worry about it peeling off in a couple of years. Also, I like to set the seats in the sunlight prior to dying them. Temperature is critical so that the vinyl expands, that way the dye will seep in better!

Is it easier to dye with covers on seats or off? I found some cheap and haven't installed them yet. Thanks.

Put them on first, or you're sure to miss some areas in the wrinkles.
