Can anyone give me a suggestion on what type of bucket seat I should use in my '70? I want lightweight seats that are somewhat comfortable and can recline. Thanks for any info!

If you want something that reclines, I would suggest a set of ProCar seats, they're pretty nice and recline. Not sure on the cost. My personal opinion, nothing looks right inside the big open interior except the original bucket seats (or a bench if that's your style)

good luck

I agree, stock looks best graemlins/thumbsup.gif my buddy used some out of a 97 Cavalier, they fit ok, looked ok, and reclined, only problem was his interior was black and closest he could come was grey. Looks to me are personal preferance, what we think looks terrible might look great to you, it's all in the eyes of the beholder !!

Good Luck graemlins/beers.gif

I decided on 1991 - 1994 Buick Park Avenue seats. They are power operated (some with memory module), most of them power reclined, split 60/40, great comfort, same width as the original bench, available in (cloth or leather) gray, dark and light blue, dark red, brown, ??? A similar seat, perhaps even more comfortable (lumbar cushions) can be found in a Pontiac Bonneville same years.

Two major drawbacks. The mounting on the floor is quite different. The reclining back does not fold forward like you need in a 2-door car. I solved both problems, but with a lot of work and the help of a machine shop. Perhaps a 2-door Regal donor is an option as far as the forward fold option.

Hope this helps.

What does "split 60/40" mean?

An example is the silverado. 60% of the seat is on one side of the "crack" of the seat while 40% is on the other.

A friend put **stang power buckets in his Chevelle. We had to "customize" a few things, but the seats looked great and had lumbar support. They are also cheap at the junk yard if ya can score some.

***** pre-emptive appology for the reference to a *ord. I am sure it will cause flamage graemlins/angry.gif
