I just bought some new door panels from Ausleys. These are the $129 ones where you must reuse the old metal strip from inside the top of the old door panel.

I'd like to know what's the best way to install these? They came factory pressed. I'd like to do the next best thing since I dont have a presser.

Also how can I reinstall the window felt once I've removed the staples?

I think there is something in the archives on this, do a search. When I had my trim shop we used to attatch the steel tops to the cardboard panels with large flange 1/8" Pop rivets, but it's a good idea to use contact cement between the two first to add strength. Attatch the felts with small flange pop rivets and paint the heads black as you will see them through the glass.

Maybe it would be better to let a trim shop do the work?
