Dear Guys. I had a leaky top on my '69 Beaumont. As soon as I discovered it, I bailed and soaked the water off the floor ( about 1/2 inch ). Then I got a new top. However a lot of soft material had soaked up water. The carpet, and underlayment, I managed to dry out. However, there is this substance that was under the back seat and on the footwells, sort of looks like a heavy cardboard or composition material, waxy surface, glued or stuck down with stuff like seam sealer. Anwyay, I tore a lot of it out to get to the bottom and fix any rust. Now that I'm all done painting etc., I would like to replace this stuff as my car is a mostly unmolested survivor car. So my questions are: a) what is this stuff? and b) where can I get it? Sorry about the long post. Any assistance very much appreciated. R.B.

R.B. It's called under carpet sound deadener. Comes in a kit with 6 or 7 pieces $45. or so. Ground-Up has it...

Thanks Jerry. Really appreciate it. ( How great is Team Chevelle....this is intended as a statement, not trying to start a new thread. )
