I'm going to be replacing the pitted windshield in my '69 el camino soon, and I was wondering if there would be any problem, or would it even fit, if I used a windshield with the built-in antenna like my '72 el camino had? I'd rather keep smooth, holeless fenders.

This swap is a snap. The 68 thru 72 windshields are interchangeable, but you do have to have the same body type, i.e. el Camino to el Camino, 2 door to 2 door. There are two sizes, just be sure you get the right one. I put a 70 windshield into my 69 Malibu with no problem. The pigtail for the antenna fits into a clearance in the center of the windshield frame. There is a dimple to drill out to mount the mating antenna cable. I think I still have pics to send if you like. I like the clean look of no antenna in the fender, and I have tried the retracting antenna, I like this better.

Thanks, I thought it would work. Yes I'd like to see the pictures so I better understand what drilling you're talking about.
