Is there a standard as to which wire, striped or not striped, goes to the negative terminal of a speaker? I have the clear speaker wire and one leg has the stripe. I know Pos must go to pos & neg to neg. Just wondering if there is a standard.

rick, before you go and spend the time to run speaker wire in your car, make sure you have the speakers first. i went ahead and ran speaker wire under my carpet but didn't get the speakers till yesterday and found out that there were special connectors on the speaker. so i ended up ripping out the old wiring and running the wire that came with the speakers under the carpet. big waste of time.
btw my stereo/speakers have the striped wire as negative. but it shouldn't matter as long as your consistent.

Thanx for the contradicting info http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif I did a search of the Infinity web site (I have their spkrs) and found something that indicated- without really saying -to use the striped for positive side.
I guess that there is no industry standard.
