I just bought a new automatic console. I need help knowing how to install the four rubber seals and two metal pieces that are for sealing the shifter where it slides from park to low. I looked at it and can not figure out how to install them, and which ones go where.
Thanks

Do you have an Factory Assembly Manual? That's what I used to figure out mine. It took some tinkering but I finally figured it out.

I remember this was fun - I did figure it out - wish I took pictures, I recall trimming the ends a bit and making relief cuts where the rubber recesses into the top plate - not sure if this makes sense, wish I could explain it better.

I have the manual but I still can not figure it out. The pic is really faded. I think I need to put on the seals inbetween the shifter plate ( the one that has park..drive..etc)where do the metal pieces go?

The two "L" shaped pieces screw directly into the sides of the console. Use a short self-threading screw.

The two "flat" pieces actually slide into the center piece that consists of a bottom plate, the black background piece and the shift indicator lens. Take the four screws out holding this together, and with a little trial and error, you'll see how the pieces lay in between the black background plate and the bottom plate. This is also a good opportunity to clean up the back side of the indicator lens, and I even re-sprayed the background plate with flat black before re-assembling.

Good Luck. The seals really make a world of difference in the appearance of the console shifter.
